As I just got my 05, you'll likely be getting a load of questions from me :-)

I keep reading about software updates, 4140 etc,
(and yes, i do use the search function )
how do I tell what I have ? When I pull up my version on the MMI it shows:

SW D3HU 6346 06.0.0 0413
HW D3HU 6346D2.0

What the heck does all that mean ?
My car is an early on-star, XM equipped 05 with the TPMS that you can switch off, if that helps...

Hmm - know how you feel as I just acquired a 2005 A8L myself and the navigation software is woefully inadequate for my area. I've already contacted navteq about their most recent update to see if it really is thorough for my area or still has huge holes like the version I currently have.
