Default Only 2K miles and I'm leaking oil

I just got my S8 two months ago and it is leaking oil. Has anyone had this experience so soon? I am a little surprised that this would happen so soon to a new car.

Re: Gearbox or engine oil ? Anyway, if new, run to the warranty service.

It looks like oil and I just put in quart. I'm taking it in to service this week. Let you know how it goes.

Both my D2 and my D3 have never lost any oil whatsoever. The D2 had done 148k miles when it was sold on and my D3 has now done 40k miles and no oil loss between services either by the dipstick, or spotting on the driveway. Is it burning it or dropping it on the floor? As said warranty will see it fixed. My TTR drank a bit of oil for the first couple of months until it bedded in the rings etc, and now only needs a pint between services.

My 07 S 8 leaked oil (drips on the garage floor) which was traced to a valve cover gasket. They died the oil to trace where it was leaking from. Never a huge quantity but a concern nonetheless. The new gasket appears to have solved the problem. McBucky

They said it is a slow leak and I can drive it until the parts come in, but I am a little nervous about this advice.

Being nervous is the right feeling in this situation. You have made a serious investment in the vehicle and anything that leaks no matter what it is cause for concern. I would ask for loaner or just drive another car until problem is completely fixed. Keep us posted on this, I have been close to pulling the trigger on an S8 for a few months now. I may just wait it out for D4.
