Default Parking brake Help

I know there is lots of threads about this but I think I might be unique, I am trying to bring back an 06 A8L from the dead
it came to me with a park brake fault

sounded like they were working but I need to look anyway
hooked up my VCDS set it to open then turned the car off
needed new pads, ordered set, took the motors off and bench tested with 12volts both seem to work fine
tried to push piston back, way to much resistance, ordered new caliper seals (lots of corrosion)
put everything back together , hooked up VCDS closed caliper
tried to put in new thickness it seems like it takes but still giving me park brake fault and low pad

heres where mine problem becomes different when I try and set the park brake it says "Too steep"

I think maybe I have a yaw or longitudinal sensor out of wack

any thoughts?

So I pulled out the battery and found the module on it side
so no wonder I was getting too steep
I also got the pad thickness to stay

but I still have an error/ light on dash

error 02440 maybe bad module or wiring
any thoughts?

If you blindly connected 12 volts to the connector on the motor assembly, which also has an encoder to read position, you likely damaged it.

that is the warning on the instrument panel or the switch.
Do an output test and see what you get. You should see all the warning indicators blinking. You know like they should have been on a 737 Max 8
