Parking Plus Graphic Display Helpful over the standard acoustical "beeping" version?
I was just about to purchase the "C" module to get the picture of the car come up when parking, but the the more I think about it, I wonder if there is any practical advantage over the 05 acoustical "beeping" parking indication?
Could someone who has had both the graphic display and an earlier 05 car comment on it's usefulness.
Maybe I should save my pennies for the video system, which obviously is the best but much more $$$. The "C" module goes for about $200 at the dealer.

There are some advantages
The display lets you know what area of the car is getting close to an object. Both the audio and graphic give you a sense of how close an object is. It's when you have the stereo up a bit too loud that the graphic becomes very useful ;-) But if you don't have the backup camera, that probably will reduce it's effectiveness. Since the focus then isn't on the mmi screen.
The graphic will also show if there are multiple obstructions. That feature could pay for itself.

Thanks Plano, how's the resolution on the graphic?
Do the graphical bars move variably as you close in to an object or do they just have a few "preset" positions?
ie. is the graphic precise enough to be used in place of the acoustical beeping?

In place of? Maybe
They go hand in hand. The audio gives the first warning of obstructions and the display indicates which quadrant of the bumper the obstruction is.
If it was the display alone, attention would have to devoted to the display to watch for alerts. Not the best pratice. Hearing allows the eyes to scan outside.
The resolution of the display is similar to what the audio is. It's several preset positions, not a few. The resolution isn't much different than the audio.
