Default Part number & DIY for Brake Pressure Sensor Replacement

Hi Folks. My first post here, but seasoned Rennlist user. I just bought a 2008 A8L with 4.2L V8. I am located in Kansas City. The car has the ABS/ESP lights with a Parking Brake failure warning and we pulled code G201 Brake Pressure Sensor failure.

I've been searching for several hours now. What I have gleaned is to first replace the brake switch - it's cheap and easy to do and sometimes fixes the issue. I doubt it is this as our brake lights seem to function fine, but I'll try that first. It appears that the second thing to try is to replace the brake pressure sensor, and if that fails to have the ABS Module rebuilt (I see in reading here that there is a module rebuilder at CHEAPABS.com that some people have used - comments good or bad on them welcome).

Can anyone provide the part number for the Brake Pressure Sensor? I'm confused because two very different looking parts seem to come up when I search. One costs around $120 and has part number W0133-1907473 associated with it. The second costs around $27 and has 03690051C associated with it. I don't believe either of these is an Audi part number - my guess is that they are Bosch numbers.

Also, can anyone point me to a Do It Yourself DIY write-up for changing the brake pressure switch.

Thanks very much in advance for any assistance you can provide!

Alright, I just found this on the Audi Parts USA website, part number 8E0907597, for $315. There's no photo, but a line drawing of it looks like the $125 part shown above. Here's a link:

It looks as if it just screws into the ABS module. I couldn't find a DIY article for swapping this on an A8, but did find one for a B6. Looks like a pretty similar setup and relatively simple, but does require a brake bleed. Thoughts?

Although it looks like a boost sensor for turbo cars, it would appear that the $27 part is correct, here it is at Jim Ellis Audi.

Wait a minute, I saw your picture and jumped the gun, you are looking for the hydraulic pressure sensor, not that vacuum pressure sensor in your first pic, so you want 8E0 907 597 I believe, illustrated as #2.

Giovanni - And I think that you are correct in that it is the more expensive part that you show in your 2nd post. Thanks again!!

Now, if only I could find a DIY article. If nothing comes up, I'll try to do one myself. Looks like a relatively simple job.

I'm I'm not sure if you know where it's located, but here it is on my 2005 A8L W12, it's a bit tight on my vehicle, but it's simply unplug, unscrew out, and screw the new one in.

Thanks again - no I wasn't exactly sure where it was. I had read something about the ABS module being down low on the driver's side, so those pics are very helpful. I've gone ahead and ordered the part, so I'll post back up here once I get it installed and what the results are.
Very helpful forum - thanks so much!

On 4.2 it may be farther forward than on the W12 GG and I share. You don't have a second intake air box in that area that the W12's and S8's have to fit in. Most any Audi ABS looks more or less the same as in GG's picture, so hard to miss w/ the many metal brake lines coming out of it.
