I think this is a good snapshot at what has to be done on these cars with the FSI engine over 100k miles.
I've been seeing many around the 90,000 mile mark. One thing it will not be used as a daily driver, I will be letting my '87 benz take that beating.

Hi Basenco,

So $55/month? All I know is if you tally the parts you mentioned we're talking a hunk of dough. Heck, the suspension parts alone (upper/lower control arms and tie rods-quality parts) are gong to run a grand! Let's not even mention the air struts.

I ended up purchasing a 2010 A8L instead of the 2007. Thanks.

1. Open the hood.
2. Do you see a logo that looks like 4 interlocking rings?
3. Yes? RUN!

Too funny, but unfortunately too true. An Audi under 40,000 miles is probably going to be reliable but once the car approached 50K and more get your checkbook out unless you are a pretty savvy mechanic with a garage. I love the cars but there are simply too many other choices out there now that offer great reliability and no where near the unexpected gremlins which crop up with these cars. I can't believe how Audi intentionally builds so many components which cannot be repaired but have to be completely replaced. If you're not willing to be deal with a failure of a component every 3-4 months you really need to look at other makes - and not the German ones.
