Default power trunk wont close with button on trunk lid

has anyone had a problem where the power trunk will open from both the button on the drivers door and the key fob but it wont close from the button on the trunk lid?

it just started happening to me today and I am pulling my hair out trying to figure it out,
when I press the close button it doesn't even make a sound like it wants to close, it just does nothing.

Does either trunk button work or just one of the trunk buttons?

Both the button on the door and on the key fob work to open it but the button on the trunk itself won't close it.

Does the one on the outside, next to license plate work?

Sounds like there is just a broken connection for the button on the lid. Simple as that. Could just have been disconnected or something along those lines. Really rather simple to think of after you already troubleshoot'ed everything else. So you pinpointed your problem.

So you think it's just a loose connection?
You don't think it's a problem with the motor or anything like that?

It was working fine up till yesterday, think it might be the switch?

If you push the button and absolutely nothing happens then yes, I do think its just a loose connection or the connection somehow got cut or removed. If it were the motor you would at least hear something I would think.

What Brozee said!

Replace the switch if it tests as failed.

Great!! I was worried that I was going to have to buy an expensive motor now.
I will open her up and see what I can find.
do you know if its the same motor that is used to open and close the trunk?
