question about the fridge
These units have a low voltage cut-out relay to prevent running the battery too low to start the car. My fridge shuts down about 5 min after I shut the car off and that seems way too soon. How long will yours run on the battery?
Also, after a 2 hour trip with the dial at coldest setting a thermometer in the fridge only got down to 50 degrees. Outside temp was 80. What temp do the rest of you get?

50° is pretty good
It's not meant to store meat, just to keep drinks, medications and other items cool during transportation. We have retrofitted a few of them and 50° is actually better than the manufacturer specs them at.
Can't help on the battery run time issue; haven't run into that.

Re: 50° is pretty good
Actually it should be able to store meat...the factory spec is that it will cool to -10C at 25C ambient temp. That's below freezing at about 75F ambient temp. Ambient temp (the temp in my trunk) was 100F the day I could only get 50F at constant run ("Snowflake" on dial). A Peltier effect coolercan get to 60F under the same conditions...the $1600 price should buy more than 10 degrees.
