Default Question about Tach, speedometer cluster lights...

I leave my headlight control on AUTO all the time. Often times, the Tach/speedometer cluster backlights, go off, usually in early morning traffic, or sometimes at dusk. To be honest, I haven't really been paying too much attention to the circumstance or pattern if any.

Is this normal or some sort of glitch? It seems to me the backlighting should always be on regardless of external lighting conditions if the light controls are on AUTO.

Also, while I'm at it, when I lower the suspension setting to Dynamic from Automatic, or from Comfort to Automatic, I see the green "lowering" dash light, but when I raise it from Dynamic to Automatic, I don't see the "raising" light. In fact I've never seen the "raising" light go on ever. Is this also a glitch?

I don't believe that there is a raising light, except on the MMI display. It is indicated by the white arrow on top of the car icon. Not sure about your other question.

Default Cluster light operation normal. You can change through VAG.com if you wish.

There is no raising light, raising shown on MMI display only. Idea of dash light is to warn you that your vehicle is getting close to the ground where dangers lurk!

Actually there is what appears to be a yellow raising light in the cluster, but I've never seen it come on either. I wonder if it is a warning light for suspension related failures?

I believe that yellow light tells you that the car is raised. My front suspension had a air leak and had to get replace. The green and yellow light was on. The SA said that is the warning lights when both come on.

Default Confirming other answers

I see descending but not raising light on my 2006 too.

I reprogramed my inst. backlighting to stay on all the time. Easy to do in VAG COM. I like the look of a bright crisp display by day too. Only problem I find is because you no longer have an obvious visual clue of when your lights are on or not at night when you switch them off and have shut off the ignition (I use the manual switch by habit together with keyless ignition), you can easily end up leaving the lights on unintentionally. Don't recall though if the instruments remaining illuminated with switch and ignition off until you exit the vehicle is the way it works in any case.

Default Yellow lift light

Yellow lift light comes on when you put the suspension in lift mode through MMI for changing a tire. Unfortunately found a piece of glass that punctured a tire while out of town. Audi sent someone to change it through roadside assistance.

Default Yellow lift light comes on only when there is malfunction in the system.

I know because i had the right front strut leak air, high pressure, thus replacing the whole strut, very expensive boys, thank god for extended warranty.
