Recent hot weather has thrown up a HVAC problem
I have front and rear temp selection on my 05D3. The weather in the UK has been great over the last few days, which has thrown up a problem. When I set all contols to a low temperature the rear vents throw out nice cold air. The drivers outer vent throws out coolish air, the drivers side centre vent throws out slightly colder air, the passenger side vents throw out warm air. Not what you want in hot weather. It sounds like a temperature sensor problem to me... any ideas, or is it simply a case of taking it to the dealers to check codes etc? Thanks

I would check for codes
I know when a D2 A8 gets low on freon, it keeps the right hand side vents cooler than the left hand side vents (driver's side on LHD car).
It's either a low AC charge or maybe it's a damper. A damper would show up in vag-com as a fault.

Probably a flap not moving correctly code. PITA to fix some of them as the Standard Repair Time is 3 hours for some. Some cracked parts require replacement of a pricey assembly.

Thanks guys. I'll get the codes checked
As the air out of the rear vents is ice cold, I suspect either a flap or temp sensor problem. I remember on my previous D2 it suffered the dreaded clicking until the day I sold it on.
