Repair Manual
Im currently looking for a repair manual for my 2005 A8 4.2, and I found this website with a download for this software. Has anyone had any experience? Or should I just get the Bentley book? I just need suggestions

Are you planning to fix the car all year? LOL. This forum got tons of fixes and pictures, practically everything in the car. I use ElsaWin once in a while, I had bad experiences with Bentley, I still have 2 dvd bought many years ago, can't use because of the software and the way they register the software. They don't care if you're the original owner of the CD.
Anyhow, every guru here has a Bentley I think.
Cheers,
Louis

Try this- there are tons of O2 threads with pictures, you have to search correctly.
Bank1 after CAT
Bank2 after CAT
Oxygen Sensor Before CAT.

It could be broken wire along the way to the sensor, someone might replaced something in the exhaust or electrical system and loosened the wire in the process. I've never had any O2 sensor problems with my 4,2 D2 even at 175k miles, practically the same engine and setup.

FWIW, there is no Bentley "book" for the D3. What it is consists of is a DVD you copy over in full to a PC. Only runs on a now very obsolete Windows XP platform, or a similar environment. I use a similarly long obsolete Sony laptop to make it run. It is comprehensive and sort of the "gold standard" for D3 manuals.
Yes, there are also download manuals too. The better ones get their content from ErWin; you order by VIN. I have one for my D4, which has many thousands of total pages. If you have a PC, you can just do a one day type subscription to ErWin and download your brains out.
You can also get a manual that works most of the time relatively inexpensively via online subscription from alldatadiy. I have that for D3 and other Audis too since it is web based and works directly on my Mac.
As far as your question, FWIW when I had the O2 heating wire codes on my D3 W12, it was in the connectors on the car harness side, not in the sensor. There is a TSB on it, though specific to W12 only. You basically get a new connector end and some wire jumpers from the dealer and splice it in at the end of the car harness. Solved my issue ultimately.
