Roller Rocker Removal

Does anyone have access to the procedure to remove the rockers and lifters? I can't find anything that explains how they come apart?

i haven't gotten into it yet but I'd like to know what I'm up against first.

Pretty aggressive on the asking the shills for the free library help, but see if someone bites. If you are doing work at this level, you really should have Bentley. Or order up a one day ErWin download for unlimited access; takes a Windows PC (or VM) that I no longer have. As a 2010, you also have a late FSI and 4V version, rather than the older 5V port that has more hands on wrenching. Could try C6 4.2 or Gen 1 Q7 4.2 for how to's on basically the same FSI 4.2--sold in a lot more volume than later in the run D3's.

FWIW on the substance and having disassembled a port 4.2 head to clean up and lap in valves, check springs and replace stem seals, I did not have to pull the rocker arms or related retaining shafts. And it was not obvious even w/ the head out of the car on the bench how to do it. Visual inspection said all was fine so I moved on from it. My issue was oil consumption--no ticking or other mechanical issues that might implicate valve drivetrain. I was able to access all the valves--5 back on the ports while only 4 on FSI--with the rockers there. Just folded out of way to get at the springs and the really teeny keepers to release them. Rockers have the (tiny) lifter assembly built into them too. Been years so I don't recall finer details. The valves are small compared to old school 2V stuff, so spring pressures and such are much lower than older school motors I cut my teeth (and knuckles) on.

I have access. But I don't publish copyrighted material.

No one gave me free access to the dozens of procedures I needed. I had to buy mine.

I pulled the valve cover on the passengers side and then reconnected everything and ran the engine for a minute without the cover on. Everything seems to be functioning properly without any excessive movement.

Does anybody know how much oil should be flowing up into the top end at idle? There didn't seem to be much but nothing had any score marks or any kind, just curious if I should be concerned by how little oil was up there?
