Just got back from the show. Because i had an order slip, they let me demo the BO system to it's capacity. Not only is the system loud and clear, but the car is so solid that you can barely hear it from outside the car (the rep insisted I do this). No doubt worth the price. An aftermarket system would run equally the same, if not more.

Seeing this S8 in person really gives you a sense of what the car is all about. They tell me the car is going to arrive mid-October, and I should be able to place the configuration towards the end of the summer. The Grey Daytona is perhaps the best Grey on the market. M Benz should be jealous of this color, because it really puts the MB Anthrocite and the new Grey (forgot the name) to shame! It's going to be a long summer....

Does it have iPod connectivity and MMI interface/menu?

Not yet...they said they hope to have it by production date...i hear you...would be perfect.

Be sure to bring it. There is a very nice woman, her name is Charmaine, who works for Audi. Ask for her at the Audi Desk (behind the cars), she is usually in one of the offices. She will give you a demo. The car is insane. I just hung up w/my dealer (Biener in Great Neck), told them how great the car is. Good luck, let me know what you think.

although the audi rep was uncertain. An impediment for sure, unless one does not mind loading CD's.
One need not be an audiophile to appreciate the sound. I am not, but it was exceptionally clear. Is it worth $7800? Despite the terrific sound and attractive speakers, I am not sure.
There may be better sound systems, but this one is, I believe, unique. It will not be an easy decision.

I had a nice appointment with Charmaine as well. She also insisted I get out so she can crank up the tunes to see if I can hear it. Amazing car, can't wait to get mine!
