I just ordered an A8L for delivery in January. One disappointment is that the Phatbox is not compatible. However, I recently noticed on Germancarfans.com that there is a special edition A6 Wagon available in Britain in which the CD changer has the ability to play mp3's. Does anyone know if the A8 also has this ability?

Also, does the A8 have rain sensing wipers? Salesman says '05 has it but web site and brochure do not mention wipers at all. TIA

The car does have rain sensing wipers. Leave the stalk on the intermitent setting and they automatically adjust to the level of rainfall. There is a little lag if you pass a truck giving off a wall of spray but otherwise they work really well.

was sensing the amount of rain. When the car comes to a complete stop and it's lightly raining and the wipers stop and do not swipe again until windshield is covered again not sensing rain?

The feature that shuts down the constant wipe and slows the intermittent wipe at a stop is not considered rain-sensing. This would occur even on a sunny day! Rain-sensing determines the rate of rain and sets your wipers accordingly.

though ( I guess, never sure with Greenie on the watch ). I'm not particularly enamored with that feature on the Jeep GC.
