So much for the Sirius-XM debate in future Audi's
"to reduce complexity in dealer ordering"
Ok, I guess this is the argument against spending the $$ on an Audi exclusive package!
Or does Audi think the dealers would have a hard time ordering a Model T correctly? ;-)

Too hard for the dealers

That's too bad...one of the things I liked about Audi was that it offered XM
Unlike the BMW and Mercedes-Benz camps. My wife wondered if Sirius offered Audi a deal they couldn't refuse and basically 'bought' the business, not an unlikely scenario given their rank compared to XM. And the spike seen after Howard Stern signed on appears to have tapered off according to a report I heard on CNBC, not good news for Sirius.
Now only Lexus seems to offer a choice, and it now appears I will HAVE to get Sirius if I want satellite radio in my next car. HATE not having a choice...

While I agree it does not seem sensible to limit consumer choice ..
on such an item, perhaps Audi want to integrate more features with the rest of the car such as Weather / Traffic with the NAV system. Perhaps in that case, development costs drive them to have to make a choice.
If it's part of a larger plan I can understand. In absence of that plan they upset the consumer for no reason.
On programming, our A4 cabrio has XM and I have Sirius and I happen to prefer Sirius. I think that is just a matter of taste.

I'd guess in the near term it would
unless Sirius is paying for Audi to remove the current functionality. Long term, who knows if satellite radio will last....
