For those of you having trouble with your trunk closing, even with the updated motor, you may have a missing spring in the soft close striker and catch. A write up to the fix can be found here:

One thing I noticed missing from the write up is if you weren't lucky enough to have the spring somewhere in the trunk, as was my luck, you basically had to buy a new latch. Luckily my local Home Depo had a small packet of springs which contained a spring that works perfectly (smaller of the two types). So instead of spending $296.24, you will only spend $3.72. Whether or not the spring will hold up, will be determined in time.
