NEVER HAVE BEEN IMPRESSED W/THE STANDARD SOUND SYSTEM IN MY A8....IS IT ME OR DO OTHERS FEEL THE SAME....LOWER PRICED BMW AND LEXUS SOUND BETTER.

disagree...find the bose in the D3 to be pretty good for oem.

Bose system in my 08 is much better than earlier Audi Bose systems that I have had. In fact, IMO it

is very good. Better than the Logic 7 system in my 06 BMW 650, although that system is also very good.

I couldn't disagree with you more. The sound system in my 04 A8L is fantastic. This is coming from someone who really had a dislike for Bose. I think they did a great job with the surround sound, clarity, bass, soundstage - you name it. The sound system is one of my favorite things - if not the favorite - about the car. I have listened to some CDs and heard detail in them that I had never heard before in a car. An added bonus was recently when I purchased the XM module. I was impressed with their implementation - top notch.
