steering column lock actuator fault
Have a 04 A8 that has a failed, steering column lock actuator. i could clear the fault in 05 and get car started but finally bought used steering column and replaced it. Now im assuming the J518 start authorization computer has locked out everything. I had car towed to dealer to see if they can get the start authorization computer to recognize new column. Hoping firmware will match....
Can the dealer Flash or some how match the new column to the start auth compt?

Well i was hoping that a Audi tech that works at a dealership would confirm or set me straight. It was towed there a week ago and the service dept wont return any of my calls. They better not be doing a bunch of "dealership work" on it. If they cant reprogram the SAC then ill part the car out. im not putting anymore money into that dealership.Thats what sucks when you only have one dealership in the area. Really Audi corporate should do some homework on the dealerships, because i wont buy another Audi do to the dealership not the vehicle!
