Default Still in the Shop

Well it's been over 10 days and the dealer still can't find the problem causing the lean code on my A8. They've replaced the Air Mass meter, tried swapping the 02 sensor, checked all the hoses, retorqued the manifold and the car is still throwing the lean code. Warranty will cover failed item and diagnostic and labor to fix the failed item. If they can't find the item, I have to pony up the money for the diagnostic. They've swallowed the cost of a lot of it so far but I still had to authorize 8 hrs so far!!

Sounds like a sticking injector that isn't spraying properly to me?

Or the secondary air injection system is blocked somehow.

Don't pay them nowt, there is definetely a problem. If they can't find it, they are relying to heavily on the diagnostics function of the OBD scanner and not analyzing the sensors readings properly.

Some garages that unless the diagnostics tell them exactly what's wrong, they struggle to do traditional diagnostics.....

Default Criswell Audi Annapolis

I'll give them a call in a few to discuss. The car is located at Criswell Audi in Annapolis. It was recommended by a few friends of mine. I concur that they are relying heavily on diagnostic scanner.

Default Ridiculous

OK...this is really getting ridiculous....they still can't find the issue, this is after the field engineer/rep showed up and started fiddling with the car. Anyone know if a good audi service shop in the Maryland area?

Tischer Audi of Silver Springs. A mechanic by the name of Billy. He has been there for years and really knows his stuff. He knows the electrical and mechanical components of the A8 as if he designed the car himself. A true master. Give them a try, I think you may have better luck there.
