AV1 was used for the RVC retrofit and it was working fine for the last year or so. I currently don't have anything extra connected to the TV tuner.

Optic loop cable is on the way.

Thanks,

Default A happy ending!

I finally got this issue fixed, luckily with a minimum waste of resources.

After receiving the loop cable, I confirmed the problem is the TV tuner which stays on after locking the car until the battery is dead. Before going ahead to purchase another one I had it disassembled and soaked it with electronic contact cleaner. I put everything back together to verify and issue is gone. I left the car for a few days and came to see MMI showing 100%.

You get to separate the main board from the other assembly for further inspection.

The only reasonable explanation is that with our dusty environment a portion of the circuitry was shorted out and kept the component alive all the time. The system does not cut power to the components so that is likely to happen.

The old "Technician in a can" trick. Akso known as: "Spary-Tech".

Glad it worked for you.

Nice one, I wonder what the cause was?

Good of you to come back and say what you found, so many others don't, leaving problems hanging without an answer.
