Stupid n00b question re: '05 vs '04 trunk space
I've decided to get a 2005 A8L to replace my glitch-filled '01 S-Class. This is one awesome machine and would dust the S500W4 even if they were the same price - factor in the VFM and it's a total no-brainer in favor of the Audi.
Anyway, here's my question: loved the monster trunk space on the '04 we test drove over the weekend. Looking at the brochures, the '05 says trunk space is 14.6 cu. ft. whereas the '04 book says 17.7. Surely they didn't really reduce the trunk space, this is just typo? TIA.

I dont think that its a typo. Thats probably the difference!
The area between the "rear" of the rear doors and the back of the car is shorter w/the SWB and the difference would be trunk space.

Re: A8L versus A8? The 05 is available in both LWB and SWB models
The '05 brochure shows trunk space on both SWB and LWB as 14.6 cf. Audiusa.com also shows this as the figure for SWB, LWB, and W12.
Think I'll run out to the dealer and eyeball the '05 LWB trunk to see if it's changed in size.

Eyeballed an '05 A8L at the dealer today and the trunk looks identical to the '04. The Ph***on website shows 17.7 cu ft for the trunk still. Methinks a typo.
