light is NOT on. I don't think I'm going to wait for it to come on at all. I'll replace them tomorrow, since it will be a nice day and all. Either my brake warning system is shot or the rear doesn't have one.
Both of front and rear brakes were replaced with new rotors at 55k miles, now it's almost 92k miles. The front brakes went out at 77k miles and I've been waiting for the warning light. Just remembered them yesterday.
Cheers,
Louis

Thanks Mark, I've been reading up on the EPB thing...
BTW, did you get your PTC? I have a few laying around, let me know if you need them, come by the office, I'll give them to you.
The procedure seems to be simple.
I'm going to experiment replacing epb brakes without VCDS... :-) even though I have both $350 and $30 ones.
Thanks again,
Louis

Actually it is very easy to do in a more than one way. One would be to unscrew motor and retract piston manually. Next would be to screw the piston in watching not to damage the seal. So each side in a different way. Of course there is VCDS way too.

I thought about that, but I think the risk of damaging something, especially a seal, makes just doing it through VCDS the only real practical way of doing this.

Alright, the kids wanted to go to Great America...
I need to finish the job quickly, it's done, the right way, no experimenting anything. Everything works perfectly as designed. Video will be available very soon.
