My driver info panel lit up with:

Tank System
Malfunction

Contact workshop!

Anyone know what this means in an '07 A8L? It came up on two successive starts but went away a couple of hours later (car not driven in the interim). I can't find it in the manual. I'll call the dealer tomorrow to ask though, of course, it's gone away now.

I'm not sure if this still applies, but on older quattro cars, the fuel tank was shaped like an upside down shallow U (to allow the rear driveshaft through), and there were internal pumps that transferred fuel from one side to the other.

Got it ... it actually is in the manual if I looked hard enough. It means there's a fault with the system that warns the driver if fuel is low. I don't think it's a priority one alert (and it's gone now).

I've noticed a mild haunting in my A8's computer before. One day the Air Suspension refused to adjust (all the options in the MMI were grayed out) but after cycling the ignition the problem never reoccurred. I guess such things are inevitable in cars as complex as ours.

I am currently having the same issue with my a5, the fuel gauge as been playing up the last 6months, but now I am receiving the same error message with the fuel gauge showing empty!?!?!

Hi, Just bought a 2007 A5 quattro and am having this problem intermittently, it comes and goes, did anyone sort it and how much did it cost?
