I'm going to do an install on a guy who lives in Chicagoland (Ulf) on his D3 using a Bluetooth system. It's not going to charge the phone or have an external antenna, but I was planning on tapping into the mute for the radio and using the B pillar speaker.

Can make a simple schematic for anybody who wants to put in an aftermarket hands free system using the factory wiring.

I will have the D3 ross-tech cable next week!

Soon, I know, soon :)

btw, any idea what the RS232 does? The bluetooth handsfree kit I have has an RS232 connector as well... tempted to hook it up and see what comes across it.

Re: Telephone/Telematic Control Module -J526- Pin Assignments

I have the blue tooth kit in my D3. I have it working independently of the car. It uses its own speaker and does not mute the radio. If you figure it out I would love to talk to you as I live in Chicago.

I'm using bluetooth as well with the headset. How clear is the speakerphone and is it loud enough?

I like the headset and was thinking about getting the speakerphone, but if there is a way to get bluetooth to work through the existing Audi speakers I would be ecstatic.

I fully expect the internal speaker to work with the kit.

...of course, you still need the kit. Getting the microphone to work could be an impedance issue, acc'd to PaulW. After speaking with SE tech-support, it's that and more -- Audi apparently uses a condenser-type mic, while SE uses an electrec mic with pre-amp. No biggie, I can deal with an extra microphone.

Now, I note (didn't I mentioned this before somewhere?) that the notorious J526 has an RS232 connection. My HCB-30 also has an RS232 connection, and after plugging it into a computer, I actually get a few prompts at 115.2kbps. Seems like it's a bit of a console port, haven't figured out how to "break in" yet. I was half expecting, half hoping that this would be a GSM-type modem-presence, which allows sharing of contact info and such... which could have been compatible with the V60 cradle. At this time, it doesn't seem to be.

The spaekerphone is great. Although I would prefer intergration.
