Anyway to auto dip the Driver's door mirror when reversing?
Can this function be programmed? The passenger side mirror dips automatically in reverse, but I would also like the driver's side to do the same.

Only passenger side. You can set both mirrors down and save it in one of the 1-4 memory positions on the door and press that number when you are reversing and then press the original number set up when done.

LOL! That's what I've been doing! So I figure the car has all the electronics, should be a
way to automate it. :-)
RHD A8's have "our driver side" mirror dip, so it's gotta be programmable somewhere(?) Vag-com setting maybe?
Hasn't someone hacked into the A8 yet! :-)

You're on the right track...?
Tell VAG COM it is a British spec car? Of course then it would overheat and MMI would instantly crash and the mirrors would stop working completely, so maybe not.

My 2008 does not do this ... I think you can still only set the offside mirror to dip. But knepster1's workaround below is pretty good!
