Totaled 05 A8L, Looking for 2009 A8L Options List
My 2005 A8L has met an untimely death and with over $30,000 damage (20k body, 5-7 for a valve job due to broken cam shaft cover (really poor design), the rest on transportation 3 states away for repair) it has been totaled. http://liquidretro.net/Jon/Misc3/Aud...-07-04_544.jpg Combine this with the damages exceeding the minimum coverage the guilty party had and well, it's been a mess. The good thing is everyone was ok, and I am looking for a new car. I am considering a few different cars to replace the A8L and really looking for a stop gap until the TDI D4 A8L's come to the US in 2013.
I am wondering if there is an options list for 2008 and 2009 A8L. I will be buying used and it would help to see what was available, especially since auctions and ebay sellers dont always understand these cars very well.
Thanks for your help.

So please tell us what happened as well. And not that the accident doesn't seem bad but was the damage just done to the front of your car in that picture? Amazing how expensive it is.

The Car was at a stoplight and someone came through the intersection (yellow light) swerved to avoid hitting a turning car, lost control went over a median and hit the Audi at 50mph. Yes it was just that corner that was damaged but it ruined quite a bit. Both fenders damaged, both front doors had crumple damage, radiator, bumper, headlight, frame damage in the front, etc. These cars are extremely expensive to repair because they have to go to a certified audi repair shop (Nearest one to me is about 750 miles) The car also has engine damage due to the headlight getting pushed back into the timing chain cover, breaking it and introducing debris into the chain causing the chain to stop, causing valve damage.

Sorry for your loss but I think you should consider yourself lucky that it was totaled. I'd hate to have to get that repaired properly, especially from 750 miles away.

Sorry to hear about the car. Glad everyone is OK. Here are the A8L pages from the 2008 and 2009 Order Guides. Sorry for the blurred reproduction, but you should be able to get what you need.

Glad to hear that everybody was OK. It’s good that it was A8. I would keep some part of it. Just as a reminder of a good friend who saved my life.
