Tranny Issue Finally Resolved (Audi Customer Service Sucks)

I had been having tranny issue from day 1 with my transmission. The symptom was it refusing to engage in first gear sometimes after the car sits for a couple hours. The dealer was not able to replicate the problem of course, and told me there is no TSB for such issue. I have left my car with them four separate times, totaling over 16 days in the dealership.

I sent my car in for a check engine light on Wed. Complained about the tranny issue again as well. I got my car back on Sat and on the receipt it said again they cannot replicate the problem. But on the last item, they said they found a TSB while fixing the check engine light regarding the torque coverter. The TSB number is 01-04-13.

Ask about the TSB and the service adviser had no idea what it was for. Looked on the internet and found that is exactly my problem. The tranny has a delay during shifting down at times from higher gear. The dealer didn't even know they fixed the problem.

Now how hard is it to figure out that the torque converter TSB might have something to do with my tranny not engaging. The torque coverter only does the engaging itself after all!!

I am sorry for such long post. I am just so sick of Audi and its dealer providing half-assed bare minimum efforts of solving problem on the second most expensive car in their line from a long time loyal customer. (2 A8, 2 A4, 1 911, 1 Boxster, 2 Jetta)

Sounds like an individual dealer/service advisor training issue rather than an "Audi" problem. .....

That said, I have to wonder if the dealers are aware of the large negative effect that a poorly trained service advisor can have on their reputations and ultimately their bottom lines.
