Shouldn't it be 0001208 if you are in USA with reinforced bumper, also did you purchase a "4E0", "4F0", or a "4L0", give us the model number of the park distance control module you purchased so we know what to work with.

It is a 4E0 910 283 C. Yes, looking at the Wiki, your coding 0001208 looks correct. I will set it to 0001208, see what happens and let you know. Thx again

Also tell us what your MMI version is, I have read that it does matter, like if you have IIRC below 3360.

Just some more info, my 2005 A8 W12 came with the "4E0" and a coding of "0001308" the 3 = USA (S-Model with reinforced bumper) but I do not have an "S" model, but a W12, so not sure why the 3, when I added it I purchased a "4L0" from an A6 which works fine in the A8, but has the coding of an A6, hence my Coding: 0221006, I see now that even my coding is off, although I do have RVC, I will play with this coding later today and see what happens, I am going to change the bumper code and that it is now in an A8.

MMI is 4610. I have reset to 0001208, I will do some driving this weekend and see what happens. I bought mine on ebay, I wonder if it had been coded for a different model. Module photo below.

OK so after 2 days, still no visual. I am wondering about the VCDS Long Coding Helper below (second digit) - it seems to be at odds with the Ross-Tech Wiki. This is why I originally set the value to 2. Any thoughts or ideas are welcome!

FINALLY.....figured it out. With coding OK and no VCDS errors, it wasn't making any sense. It occurred to me to take a look at the hidden menu. Lo and behold none of the APS options were checked....so I checked them all and saved...needless to say, everything is working great now.

So, if installing in a 2004 Audi A8L and wanting to get the visual assist on top of the audio assist, would one need the part "4E0 919 283 C" - like 91quattro's part, or part "4L0 910 283 C" like the OP storka posted? I found that the 4L0's that are available are coming from 2011 Q7s. Are these basically the same thing? It looks like the guys are saying both of these work. Can anyone (such as the both of you) confirm this? I'd like to order one, and I found both of them for comparable prices. I just want to avoid buying a part that won't work.

Also, is installation easy? If it's in the left-side trunk compartment, I assume it's very easy to access as IIRC the radio and the navigation is back there along with it, and that's it right? It would be a simple pull-and-replace with the cables running in?

Thanks

4E0 number is meant for the 4E chassis...it works for sure. It sounds like the 4L0 will also work. Installation is very easy - remove the side cover in the trunk and then two mounting screws. 5-10 minutes tops.

Excellent - will do! I will try to get the 4E0 model first and, only if its not obtainable, I'll grab the 4L0. I believe the 4E0 and 4L0 were comparably priced.

Regards!

UPDATE: Ordered the 4E0919283C for $59.99 with free shipping. Nice, cheap upgrade. Thanks for the info!
