When I pull the stalk quickly to wet the windshield my headlight washers come on for 3 squirts. Is this normal? If so, how do I use one without activating the other?

Headlight washers are activated about second or so later than windshield washers. So command shorter than second will activate only windshield washer. Few of those in a row are enough to clean the windshield. You can't activate headlight washers separately.
