Default What is this part called - While doing body work this fell out

Help, while I have my car bring worked on by my body shop guy this part just fell out and was hanging there. It's located at the front of the car near the bumper, passenger side. Cable is very short and can't go very far but for the life of me I can't see anywhere to plug this back at.

I need help please someone tell me what this is. I was told by a family member it could be a Airbag sensor or whatever you call the thing that deploys the airbag when it gets crushed in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

That is NOT an airbag sensor.

There are no airbag connections under the car.

My guess would be brake pad sensor.

Equipped like that, it looks like a terminated connector. I think that is the area below the engine torque mount, where Audi went from a hydraulically controlled/switched type back to the "dumb" standard one. My W12 had the latter in its normal set up, so didn't even have the wiring for it IIRC. Search more if interested, but that's my guess of what to research.

Connector part #'s are pretty generic, so that search probably won't yield much. It seems too short, too low and far forward to be brake pad connector related, though they do sell termination connectors for those too when folks use non seasoned pads and don't just jumper them.

It is as MP stated, it is a engine mount bypass resistor, see links.

Thank you for your help everyone.

So should I buy the bypass and just leave it hanging or tuck it in somewhere? On mine it seems to hang low enough to sort of bother me. I just want clarification, Thanks in advance.

Ty-wrap it to the other wires in that harness up and out of harms way. Don't let it sit and rub on the lower cover.
