Where to put the jack pad? Lift points? Jacking?
Apologies for the awkward title, but I am fed up with the search on AW And so I am trying to create good searchable titles. Ironically the one of the searches which did complete - jacking -is a keyword in a whooooole lot of threads I never imagined existed on AW.
So Bentley the described the D3 A8's lift points as "oval rubber" pads, and provides the most worthless illustration in the history of literature to show them... There are no oval rubber pads on my 2004 A8L, nor does it look as though they scraped off. Where are the lift points? Thank you. |
$28-34 I had to buy one - someone stole it.

Thanks, Louis. Where did you buy them? I searched audiusaparts.com for jack, lift, pad with no luck. If you have a receipt or the p/n somewhere I'd appreciate it. Does not look familiar but my car was so low I could barely see under it with my head firmly on the ground!

I bought from AUDIUSAPARTS- I ordered the wrong side - they charged 20% restocking fee and I didn't even get my refund yet. Make sure you get the right side -
Rear passenger side 4E0801772A Rear driver side 4E0801771A Call them to make sure, their order doesn't even show the part number. If you order the front, let me know when you find out the part number. Cheers, Louis |

I have rubber pads on both sides for rear that I use with a floor jack.. For front with a floor jack, i place the jack's pad directly over the hex bolt head that secures the subframe on either side.

Thanks Mishar,
Here are where I put mine with a square 1/2 or 3/4" wood block fit squarely on the floor jack lift pad. http://www.dognmonkey.com/media/audi.../sm_w17_12.JPG |
