Who makes Audi (A8) OE brake discs/rotors? Is it Zimmerman?
Our 1997 A8 4.2 Quattro has a juddering problem under braking. It feels like either the ABS is cutting in when it's not supposed to or it's something to do with the pads/discs.
Front pair from Audi dealer cost a whopping £127.00 and a pair of Zimmerman's from 'German Swedish & French' are only £69.00.
Do you know who makes the OEM discs on the A8? And maybe other Audi's as well?
Thanks

Re: Judder under braking
In all likelyhood, the juddering is caused by pad deposits on the rotors. [See Myth #1] This can happen in several ways, but an easy way to get rid of the deposits that usually works is to do about six back-to-back 70 to 5 mph hard (near ABS) stops. After the last one, continue driving for a few miles to let the brakes cool before parking.
Pad deposits are not always visible, but the ones at 7:00 in the pic would shake the car violently until they wore off.
Finally, I don't know who makes A8 rotors, and the D2 A8 forum for pre '04 A8/S8's is Here :-)
