Default Will someone lend a vag-com adaptor ?

I am interested in removing seat belt chimes and lowering my A8.

Unfortunately, although several people in the Minneapolis area have a vag-com, none of them have the adaptor (hex can ?) to attach it to a 2006 A8.

I will send a check for the replacement amount of the adaptor if someone will priority mail it to me for a week or so.

I send it back, you tear up the check.

I have no interest in owning a vag-com, or in buying this adaptor. I would rather pay $5 priority mail two ways ... that is, if there are any takers ?

Default You have a $80K car and won't spend $350 for the coolest tool you can buy?

Ross-Tech is great company that really gives Audi owners lots of support - just look at the VAG-COM forum. It costs money to keep a small business going. The price is very fair. Just buy it.

Default I second this. I bet if it was a $500 audi option, you would have added it without a second thought

agree. support the little guy! the price is much cheaper than any audi option you can order for your car. If it was an official audi part, you think the software would be that cheap?

I know, I stick an audi decal and charge you double.

Default Re: Will someone lend a vag-com adaptor ?

Well, I live in a condo building, so I have no garage for my own use, etc.

It's something that I would have to always go somewhere else to use, and as it is reasonable to assume I am only going to use it to remove seatbelt chimes ... it's just one more thing collecting dust in the closet.

Anyway, someone in Minneapolis with an A8 capable vag-com saw my post and offered its use.

I'll tell you this though - if it were a $500 option to turn off all of the lame, unnecessary aesthetic nightmares in the car, I certainly would have done it.
