Window goes down but not up
2004 Audi A8L got home window will not go up. Popped door panel removed door motor from regulator. Motor operates down with switch but not up. Is it safe to say the switch is shot?

Maybe. If any but driver's door, easy to test for switch by just using either door or driver's control to see if it moves. But driver's door only has that one switch. If driver's switch BTW, you have to buy the whole switch block, but it isn't terribly expensive as Audi electrical parts go.
Other possibility is it is the window mounting where they attach to the window regulator/frame/motor assembly. If you see the window shift in the internal frame slightly when you apply the up direction, figure it is the window mounting and/or motor regulator assembly and NOT the switch. Older Audis (through late 90's) had those maladies as well as less reliable switches.

All other windows work correctly from drivers door and at perspective door. Window doesn’t bind at all when I move it up and down with motor out. Motor operates in down mode only with switch and not up. I don’t think there can be anything else. Thank you for the response
