So all that clear lens area does nothing on your outer light, and only a very small portion of the inner clear lens is for the reverse light, that's what made me wonder if it was coding to ROW that gave the amber turn signal, or if what you guys ordered was a different part number and the clear lens area has nothing inside on the lights some on here have purchased, it just seems odd to me...

You can code the rear lights specifically ROW, but the SAE ones don't even have the LED's in the outer portion, you can see they are blank on close inspection, with holes where the LED's would be. The coding difference must just be for the voltage requirements, because even coded ROW, the blinker still appears to function the same, it's definitely a hardware difference between the two kinds, even if they look the same externally.
Oh, it wasn't just the lenses, I paid $625 for the set of 4 tail lights, which was far cheaper than I found anywhere else, most sets cost $800 or more. The whole internal structure is different on them, and I still have to wire them to make them work properly, as described at the beginning of this thread.

Yeah, I did the updated lights on my 07' a while back. Photo here. If you've ever done stereo wiring it's basically the same. I got an 8' section of new wire, cut the old wire like 6 inches before the pin/connector, and then spliced into it with a crimp connector.
