Default XM Radio

The XM (and Sirius) modules for 2004 A8 are available now! Audi will provide necessary software upgrade, updated Nav DVD and installation for free. You've still got to pay for the radio module. But, it works great!

Default I wonder if AoA had a Campaign Notice JF on this subject?.. :>)

Have we been a time warp and we all just back from whence we came?

I ordered my 2004 A8L last July, delivered in Dec.and finally got the notice for the satellite upgrade last week. I called Barrier Audi in Bellevue, WA about installation. THEY gave me an appointment but when I got there apparently no one had ordered whatever part was needed. They were asking $1000 for the receiver. I called AUdi directly and they said dealers are asking on the average $600. Geez, after paying $86K for this car and making us wait almost a year for this feature, I thought they'd give it to us for nothing. Guess I'm in hell and waiting for it to freeze over. Lou's Blue in Bellevue !

Default You paid 86K? Did you get a 1999 A8L as a side car??

There is no way you should pay $600.00!! Thats dealers list. They should, with the right approach, discount the tuner. Hell, we could ship you one from Philly for less!

Default Hey, Seattle Blues, I'm also a Barrier customer

I ordered an XM unit and they appranretly shipped the wrong one in the worong box, so my isntall appointment was wasted...latest news is that they won't release it from their AoA warehouse for three weeks, so I'm in a wait and see mode right now. I have a unique situation where my sat is prepaid so I don't know what Barrier is charging, but $1000 seems preposterous to me.
