'07 S8 or '11 A8?
Hey guys n gals! Came across an 07 S8 that I'm pretty much sold on and considering buying. It has new parts that commonly go bad like air ride, control arms, coils, and the notorious carbon build up cleaning all done by the dealer. However in my search I just came across a 2011 A8 that I'm also falling in love with. I'm truly caught in between cars and don't know which to lean towards. Help me make this decision easier please! I guess I'm asking what common issues the 11 A8's have if any compared to the S8?

How are problems compared to the S8? I've been doing some research on the 07-09 S8 the past week. Seems like every one of them have coolant leaks, oil leaks, air ride goes bad, control arm bushings, and the carbon buildup? But haven't read much into the A8's as I just stumbled across this one today. The 2007 S8 has 95k on it. The 2011 A8 has 78k on it. I do know the S8 has recently had new air ride up front replaced, carbon cleaning, new control arms, motor mount, & coils.

Ive owned 3 different s4s. 2 06s and an 07. That 4.2 motor burned way ro much oil in each one of them which is why I kept trying a different car haha. Not sure about the 07 s8 motor and if they have that same problem.

They really are quite different. It will be hard to find a really nice D3 S8 as it wasn't produced the last production year and not many produced in 09.
Upside is they are both great cars but I really miss the D3 S8. .

as of reliability, you cant even compare, the D4 is a much better car. ( i still think the D3 looks nicer,)
the 07 is over 11 years old, you will spend allot of time and money in the garage.
go for the 2011. ( just have a ppi before)

I would go with the S8. I had a 2007 with no issues. It had the resonator deleted which made the V10 sounded amazing. I wouldn't worry about reliability. My 2014 S8 has been in the shop more than the 2007 was.
