Hey guys im looking to get remote starter installed in my car and don't want to use my smartkeys, i bought it pre owned so i dont have the valet key...

Can i buy one of the plastic keys that has the chip in the head but no remote from ebay and have a local locksmith program it ? Dealer wants 68 for the key and 115 to program it which plus i have to go with all paperwork and order the key and a 2nd visit to program it.

can someone confirm if you can start your car with the valet/emergency key as the parts dept# at 1 of the dealers around here says u cant start a 2011 a8 with valet key as theres no key slot in it but i believe thats y that plastic key has a chip in it aswell.
