Google says my elevation is 1,706

I didnt engage the acc mainly because I was too focused on feathering the gas pedal to maximize the mpg and haven’t figured out 100% how to use it yet. When I look at the electronic mpg meter during hwy speeds the numbers are really good but the average mpg seems like it doesn’t reflect my hwy mpg. Its as if the fuel is leaking out or something. Doesn’t smell like its leaking though

Which average are you looking at? There are two, short term which is your current trip and long term which is for the lifetime of the car.

I have a 3.0L and don’t get good mileage. City driving is bad like 15 mpg, but some is driving habits.

How old are your brakes? My daughter had a sticking rotor on her Mazda that dragged her MPG's wayyyyy down

14 MPG on the highway is an indication something is hung up or perhaps you have a clogged fuel filter, a poor performing injector, plug, coil, etc. Really, it could be a lot of different things.

Whatever it is, get it in right away for a checkup - perhaps right back to the place you purchased it from. If your using that much fuel it may mean you’re sending a rich mixture of unspent fuel through your turbo and catalytic converter. If you’re in a state with emissions checks, they will likely catch it then, but you may not want to wait until your sticker expires before taking it in.

Ok, so you are saying the momentary mpg is actually pretty good on the highway, but your average is low. So if you momentary mpg is good, then it doesn't sound like the car is burning more fuel than it should. The average takes some time to really come up if you drove a stretch with poor mpg. Were you stuck in traffic for part of the trip for example? That can really kill the mpg and it will only slowly recover. What's your miles to empty reading on a full tank?

I don’t get 14 on the highway, highway is 22. The low mileage is driving local around Pgh, with probably more idling than I realize. Usually, I have the start/stop off.
note I think the 4.0 gets better mileage at higher highway speeds.

It shows I have 360 miles left. After my last fill up I’ve gone through a few drive thrus and stood in traffic a little bit. I lost 1 bar on the gas gauge at 18.5 miles.

Don’t think this indicates anything yet. I’m keeping an eye on it an waiting to see how many miles I can get out of this tank driving normally.

After you mentioned the brakes I do remember hearing my brakes make that rubbing sound when I’m not braking. I never had that on my other cars. Is this normal with Audi’s? Brakes squeak and I don’t know how old they are. Shouldn’t I get a notification when they’r worn out?
