Default 2016 A8 4.0t insurance claim

I got in an accident. The front end and rear end has damage.

i requested OEM parts but the insurance company said no unless I pay the difference.

A few few months ago I got hit by a deer and told them I wanted OEM parts and they said okay because I requested it.

Will I be happy with the outcome if they use aftermarket? How much aftermarket parts will they be able to get?

I would go back again and basically say not acceptable and you would want to be indemnified and compensated for any further loss. Put it in writing; words they hate BTW. A 2016 is a 3 year old car, likely still under warranty for whole car. It has a 10 year warranty for corrosion IIRC which is parts and procedure specific for coverage. In plain English, those compromise your warranty and reduce value further.

A guess though is that other than windshield, good luck to them finding much of anything third party supplier wise for a corner case vehicle volume wise in real world. Unlike A6 that was/is also built in China for that market, probably not a lot of knock off parts around either. They could be trying to substitute junkyard parts as another scenario; you might want try to pin them down on that and look at your policy terms to see if permitted. As Mister Bally says on the D3 board. Insurance CON-panies are not your friend at times like this when they seek to minimize their outlay.

There may be no aftermarket parts. Didn't have any for my minor fender bender in December.

Good, I was hoping there wasn’t any. I just don’t want them putting aftermarket headlight assemblies in and or china parts.

I spoke with the Audi dealer parts guy I usually deal with when buying parts for my D3 and he reiterated that there’s no aftermarket parts for the 2016.....nothing I would need to be concerned about. But he did say they will try buying used parts from other accidents.

Thats fine because the shop I am taking it to is a certified Audi collision center and on my insurance companies list of approved shops and by using them I get a lifetime guarantee on the parts and quality of work.
