Default 2016 Audi USA Order guide w/ pricing + more details; SWB is 3.0T and S8 only

The more definitive 2016 USA order guide is now out. This revision has pricing and details for each variant.

And, for the SWB (NWB) answer, it apparently nets to being available only for the 3.0T and the usual standard for the S8. SWB is gone from the USA 4.0T. 4.0T is now labeled automatically as the 4.0T Sport apparently, and is only in LWB form. See attached for specifics, trim, options, etc. In the back are the big bucks Audi Exclusive details and pricing too.

Thanks for the update on the OG. Looks like they bumped up the A8 4.0V8 another 15hp to 450 vs. 435 for 2015 MY. And with the added 4.0T Sport standard features, many that previously were optional, the base MSRP increased only $100 from the 2015 4.0T LWB. I wonder what may have been Value Engineered.

Interesting. This 2016 order guide (issue date 4/3/15, revised date 5/13/15) shows S8 options PAW and PCU for the Cold Weather Package and Driver Assistance Package. The one that my dealer showed me and ordered my new S8 from (issue date 4/3/15, revised date 4/10/15) does not show these options and lists these items under the Standard Features. I wonder what happened? I need to get back to my dealer and check this out since my order details confirmation (production week 2315) does not show these options since I was told that they were included in the standard features and I do want them.

Maybe there is an S8 in my future, because I much prefer NWB, and I don't think the 3.0t will do it for me. Or maybe I won't do anything. I love my 2007 A8, and have recently begun to focus on a "keep it forever" maintenance program.

Default still not clear that there will be a 3.0t NWB

you may indeed be looking at an S8. Even though that buying guide has info in there about a 3.0t NWB, it also says "currently not available for ordering". My dealer tells me they have decided to not offer it at all. That the buying guide was drafted while Audi was making up its mind, and apparently they've now decided to only offer the NWB for the S8.

I have the 3.0t. And while I haven't driven the 4.0, I can assure you the 3.0 will move right along. I also have a 2500lb car with 472 whp, and the a8 "feels" almost as quick from a dead stop for a couple gears. (AWD advantage?)

I have a 3.0t for a loaner for the moment, and I agree, it hustles along just fine, more or less as quick as a 4.2 FSI D3. My D4 is a little bit quicker, but more importantly to me, the 4.2 FSI makes a great noise. It just sounds right for the car, where the 3.0t sounds relatively gruff and unrefined. I haven't experienced the 4.0t, and can't speak for that engine.

I didn't mean to knock the 3.0t per se. I have just been spoiled by the 4.2 FSI on my D3, and, like Jack88 says, the sound of the N/A V8 is very important.

No worries. If I had found a 4.0t for similar price, of course I would've bought it instead, ha.

When will the D4 be refreshed? Any idea?
