Default 2016 or wait for D5?

Seems like pricing for CPO 4.0T's are in the low $70s and even saw one listed for under 70k.

I think I'd like more power (I have the. 3.0) not sure if I should stick it out with what I have and try for the D5 in a year or two. Amazing that I can buy the LWB with the 450 hp V8 for the same pricing as I paid for my current DD 18 months ago. I figure with the 2016, I get the S6 engine, a 3.9 sec 0-60 time with no sacrifice on the interior etc.

Thoughts?

Always a new shiny object out there. Wait 6 months and it will be down another 10-15% probably. By D5 intro maybe 25% plus. Just depends on when and if you want to get into pool again. I waited a long time from D3, even through facelift plus a year to CPO.

When is the D5 supposed to be introduced?

I think the D4 was first available in the month of November...

70's? Wow.

I'm seeing 2014 4.0T's around here in the high 30's. Granted, that's not CPO and some of them have 60-ish thousand miles, but $30k is a huge delta. I'd rather have that $$$ in MY pocket and if there's a maintenance issue, I've got no problem paying up.

I should have clarified that these are CPO cars with less than 10,000 miles.

I don't think the customer will see much from the cheat from the 3.0 gas engines, I think that was primarily an economy cheat. If that's the case, any payout would be due to the difference between what it gets on the proper test and what they advertised, if there is any customer payout at all.

D5 A8 slated for U.S. launch in Spring 2018; S8 in Summer 2018. Been on Audi USA's model launch schedule that way for quite some time, even prior to "Dieselgate."

I was waiting for derf's response; makes sense. The one I would go by from posts in past.
