3.0T A8

Any here with the 3.0T engine are dissatisfied or regret this combination in place of the 4.0T?

Not me. Love the 3.0T!!!! Remarkable engine for a remarkable car.

I have a 2016 with the 3.0 and I am extremely happy. It is a great engine for this car......Plenty of torque and excellent fuel mileage.

Disclaimer: I am an old retired guy.

I love mine. I really like how many different Audi platforms the engine is applied to and I always worry about the turbo reliability from the 4.0 (even if my concern isn't really warranted).

I love mine!! I think it is great engine for that car. I am saving few bucks to get APR stage 2 upgrade.

Have no issues with mine. I got over the need for "Fast and Furious" years ago. 4.0 certainly has more power, but the 3.0 does just fine. IMHO

Mine is plenty fast, get the 4.0 for street racing.

The 3.0 is a great engine. Audi service techs will agree that it’s pretty much bulletproof as well. My car performs well and I get 30mpg on the highway. That said, I’d be lying if I said I didnt long for more power at times. I’ve driven the 4.0 and it pulls amazingly - very fast. But I keep coming back to reality when I consider my commuting patterns and the true lack of opportunity to exploit that power. Reason why I went with my car vs the S6 3 years ago.

I did APR stage 1 on my 3.0T about 6 months ago and would say it's as quick as a 4.0T now. Not as smooth as a 4.0T but do not have an urge to change now, I did before the APR tune even though it's really enough power stock. As others have said the 3.0 has proven reliable, the 4.0 seems to have occasional expensive turbo issues.

I'm strongly considering doing the same. Any regrets on the Stage 1? Was your car out of warranty when you did it?
