4.0 turbo Audi warranty extension announced
 

My dealer just informed me this morning that Audi has extended the warranty for the turbos on the 4.0 V8 to 10 yrs or 120,000 miles. I would speculate this would also reimburse owners who paid out of pocket in the past. (speculation is based on the fact that this is how the PCV extension works).

I am thrilled. My 3rd party warranty is about to expire. And when I had my car in to have the PCV replaced a couple of weeks ago, they informed me of and shared photos of scoring on the turbos and expected their demise soon. We were trying to figure out a way to deal with the problem before my warranty expired and then suddenly this good news from Audi appeared. Now I will sleep better. I will also share this on the turbo failure thread.

Whooo!! Now let's hope the ds1 flash to stock and the audi scan didn't td1 me.

I don't have the vocabulary to say how happy it makes me to hear this. This is my very first Audi, and fear of maintenance is the primary reason it took me so long to get one. I LOVE my car, and it's been everything wanted and needed it to be, but I'm not exaggerating when I say the Turbo Failure Threat crosses my mind every single day.

By the Way, who is your third party warranty with, and are you happy with them?

Well, this sucks for us who DIY replaced them.

Just got the same call. This was huge as I was staring down the 10k repair bill. They were going to repair it today but waited until it covered as in warranty in the system. Time to play the lotto!

Great news, I'll run my oil for over 30K now.

Carvana probably knew this when they made me an offer for my 2015 I couldn't refuse :)

Perfect! They will replace your turbos for free, and you can have them replace your engine at the same time :rolleyes:
