I believe it is 7/70

Need to read thread. Not extended. Longer warranty period (7/70) applies for states following CARB emissions rules than those not (basic Audi 4/50). The Audi related warranty extension was on the PCV system, which has some physical location & work overlap to replacing oil filter screens implicated in turbo issues.

Default 2013 s7 turbo failure

2013 s7, turbo failure caused total engine failure.

Warranty paid $33,000 for rebuilt engine , j had to pay $10,000+ for the install labor.

Selling dealer and Audi HQ both said they wouldn't do anything for financial relief.

Too late for me. 2013 S8, 83k miles on original everything....Stock for 10K miles and stage 2 for the last 2k miles. Turbo broke at the track. Turbine wheel was sitting in the turbine housing when I took it apart. New turbos and TSB parts on their way from SRM.

Default An idea to help preserve Turbo's?

Hey, how about adding a couple bottles, I think 12 ounces each, of "Prolong" brand oil additive? There is a great article on the web from an engineer that did extensive studies on this product. It improves the "slipperyness" of the oil and COULD help from an oil starvation incident? It apparently coats the internal metal components with some sort of coating. I'm certainly NOT an engineer but heck for $30 and not wanting to spend $2-10K on new turbos on my 2014 S8, I dumped two bottles in when my oil level dropped a bit. Instead of adding 1/2 quart of oil. I do not believe it will void warranties ut mine is out of warranty with 40K miles but NO problems whatsoever with an APR Stage 1 tune.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.....

Sounds like Slick 50 from back in the day...

Seriously, here is the definitive study (that I can find) on Additives.... Remember who sponsored it as you read....
