I'll see what they say. I'm willing to push this, to a point. My concern is getting the car repaired completely and under warranty, first and foremost. Anything after that is a bonus. I'm getting rid of this car in two months - I just want it to be in proper working order first.

Make sure they fix the car properly according to TSB and that oil screen and check valve are done so next owner doesn't have issues.

How exactly am I supposed to do that? I'm not a mechanic. And the next owner isn't my concern - they should be happy to get a car with "new" turbos, tires and rear brakes with less than 10,000 miles on them, and all safety recalls done. The dealer I trade it in to can worry about the next owner.

Simple. Kindly ask them to review the TSB and confirm that oil screen and the check valve are being replaced as per the TSB. I would think they are doing this already. The service advisor just isn't aware.

Attached is the summary of the work they performed and the parts they replaced for my A8 (it's two photos as the parts for the turbo fix runs on to the second page). The right side exhaust turbine was broken off the shaft. The list of parts for the fuel pressure damper recall is on page 2 as well. Car seems to be running fine.

One thing I've noticed since getting the car back is that it starts immediately upon pressing the start button, like instantaneously. I guess I hadn't realized before that there was a bit of delay/cranking when starting the car.

Excellent! Glad she is fixed properly. Sorry you had to go through all this. Thanks for taking the time to post the invoice of parts. Regarding the delay/cranking, you are correct. My car takes about 2-3 seconds cranking before it starts. At least I am entertained by the speedo pinning and then coming back down. I always thought this seemed way too long.

Many, many thanks for posting. I hope your new turbos help you get the best price when you trade it in. Don't forget to post what the new ride is!
My 35k service is next week.... Now I can show them the work involved vs maybe taking the time to check the turbos now.
