Default 75K service at 70K?

So my 2000 1388 now has 70,500 miles. Last week the car notified me that it needed to be serviced in 1000 miles. I was surprised it already notified me as I completed the 65,000 mile service pretty much exactly at 65,000 miles. I don’t remember exactly when I had to 65K service done but I know it was less than a year ago. My driving style has not changed, if anything else I’m doing a little bit more highway miles vs city miles.

Has anyone else been notified about needing to perform service for 5000 miles early? Also, any thoughts on Audi care? I understand the 75,000 mile service is a pricey one as it includes the spark plugs. Curious how much a normal 75,000 mile service will be versus pre-paying $1069 for the 75K and 85K services...

Just scroll lthru your MMI service display to see the elapsed milers and time. It is probably coming up on the 12 months, and either time or miles triggers the warning. FWIW, if my miles are low, I am okay stretching on time. Audi's Euro intervals are out to two years, though with a better (504) oil.

But, having BTDT on mine, here's a different thought. I ran into this with my very low miles (3200) 18 month old 2015 CPO that had Audi Care. What I started doing was my own tweener oil changes. That got my average oil change interval down to 5-6K miles. Then I would bring it in about every 18 months on AudiCare for the "annual" nominal 10K intervals. Since AudiCare (for a new one) goes out to 66 months to get the final "45K" interval completed, I have been stretching it out effectively--particularly for that 35K bigger service I have yet to do that would nominally be at the 3 year point.

Simplifying to plain English. Take in only for an oil change now. Maybe even see if there is a dealer oil change coupon deal you have received... Skip the other bells and whistles even of a 10K check--just basic oil change. Then at 75-77.5K, bring in for the major service. Or DIY or indy it. One thing to check though is when the 35K first major service was actually done. I would do it by the miles. Thus, if it was done at 35K or higher miles, fine for this purpose, But if it was actually done at 30K, go back to doing it all now. That is, I wouldn't run a blown motor set of plugs past the recommended 40K. More so here where the plugs have been revved a few times apparently. I assume you have a 4.0T of some kind, but the typo's right at the start of your post make the actual model hard to decipher.
