A8 comparison with LS460
#11
I just came from a 2008 Lexus LS600HL into an A8L
imho, the 460 is not even in the same league as the a8. HP is not there. Looks and Luxury items are not there.
a fair comparison would be the LS600HL. 440HP better headlights, air suspension equipped and mainly will all come with rear entertainment system on all hybrids. The unicorn is the executive package as one stated above which gives you the leg extender and table for center console in the rear seating.
it is a softer ride. Leather feels softer, very smooth and very nice nonetheless.
between the LS460 and the a8 I would go with a8 hands down. But it's a toss up with the 600. I like the a8 trunk space as my 600 had none because of the hybrid battery. I like my rear side sunshade as well as my rear sunshade on my 600 as my a8 only has rear sunshade. Both has power. Both have comfort and sport controllable settings. Both are very impressive vehicles. If you are leaning towards a LS though get a 2010 or higher for nothing other than being able to play Bluetooth music and not use an aux cable.
I can help shed more light and any questions if need be. Toyotas are always reliable cars... this is my first Audi and I'm hoping for the best

Owned both and the 460 is a very smooth ride. Complete disconnected from the road There's actually a little more wind noise from around the mirrors on the 460. A cpl of the controls may be easier time use and reliability may be up a little c
The Audi A8l is hands down more technically advanced, fun to drive and much more reliable than BMW MB, jaguar etc. Audi is similar in reliability like VW.
IF I HAD MY pick of any similar it would diffidently be the 8 series Audi. LOVE IT!!!

My brother has the 460 and he loves it but he has borrowed my car twice in the last month just for what he calls driving pleasure and presence.
His words not mine were
"my car cost 3 times what yours did and people look at yours like its something special"
i told him it is lol but his point was the lexus is a little understated in the looks department and slightly dated? well thats only my opinion.
good luck with your test drives
regards bob

Correct. Given the already scarce nature of the short wheelbase version, one missing that option is even rarer. Interestingly, it was a standalone option for 2011-12, but after got bundled with the 4-zone climate control. It was standard on the L because the extra rear legroom implies a certain priority for those passengers anyway. The standard wheelbase variant was usually bought by those more concerned with the driver, ergo giving the buyer a discount if they chose not to include the option which would really only benefit rear passengers. Motortrend, I believe, lists the options and features of any car year by year, great for research.

played around with it a bit and figured it out...
i was expecting to be able to raise and lower from driver seat as I was able to in the LS.
Thanks guys I appreciate it very much!

If you have the side screens, you can. Just hit the button to roll up the window when it's already up.
