A8 vs Genesis G90
Looking to trade for a 17 or 18 A8 and was wondering about the G90. Anybody every owned or driven one? How do they compare in handling and quality?

I drove them back to back 2 years ago. Drove the V6 G90 first, the the A8 3.0. The A8 had adaptive air suspension where I immediately appreciated the softer ride. The A8 also seemed slightly more quiet (freeway driving on concrete). The A8L is a larger sedan with more rear legroom. Overall as an elegant freeway cruiser with seat massage I chose the A8L. |
My father started a Genesis Revolution with his regular Friday breakfast club.... he bought one two years ago and now three of four regular attendees have one. Did I mention my father is the youngest of the group at 86?
The Genesis is a decent car in it's own right, but you will have to put up with Hyundai parts-bin switchgear. I found the seats to be less than satisfactory, but then again it's not fair to compare them to 22-way massagers. A few of the Hyundai safety aids are still a bit primitive, most notably the blind-spot warning routinely comes on while sitting at an intersection with a car next to you....and you cannot tun it off. The Genesis cabin is generally a nice place, with great sound proofing and very good visibility. I see this car as a competitor to Lexus... looking to smoothly propel you to and fro with not much fuss. If you are inclined to stomp on the gas and attack an apex here and there, the Genesis may disappoint you. |
