Anyone with 22" Wheels on their A8?

Well I pulled the trigger on some 22's (22x10 to be precise). I've had large wheels with low profile tires before and yes, you have to careful around potholes and man hole covers. Last set I had had 205 series rubber, which was stupid low profile. Choosing to go with a 30 series which should yield some decent protection for the rims.
I live in Vancouver, so the roads are relatively smooth here compared to the frost heaved mid west and north east.
We'll see how they look next week.
BTW, I have a set of 20x9 Lexani CVX-44 wheels here in Vancouver if anyone is interested. Only been on the car for about a month. Not a mark on them. Could include Pirelli P-Zero tires as well, which only have 15,000kms on them (about 12,000 miles).

I am considering moving to a set of 22" wheels, but could use some real world advice on sizes, especially tire sizes.
Specs recommend a 30 series tire, specifically a 265/30/22 tire to ensure the overall diameter is within 3% of OEM diameter with a 20" wheel with a 265/40/20 tire.
I would prefer not to run such a low profile tire, and would prefer a 35 series tire. A 255/35/22 tire keeps the overall diameter within 3% of stock, but I have been warned of potential rubbing.
Anyone have any advice?

the S8 with 21x9 on 275x35 et35 has room still. Going 1 size up is ok. 255s on 22" will look ridiculously narrow....like a cheap *** 300...LOL

Hello
Here is a pic of my 3.0TDI with my set of 22"s! Love the way it transformed the cars looks! Now it does`nt look like I`we borrowed my "Grandpas" ride anymore!
Wheels are made by Ocean and I am currently running with 295/30x22 front and rear,,,I know,,,A bit wide those tyres, but runs suprisingly good on this dim. ,,even though I wanted narrower tyres!

I got my car delivered with Audis 20" wheels, same style, only in silver of course! I do not feel that it has really changed the ride quality,, but there is some more "tyre noise" that I sometimes feel is annoing when traveling on rough asphalt! Can have it all I guess? :-)
